Depression and anxiety are both normal human emotions that are appropriate, healthy responses to troubling situations.
Once the stressful situation has passed physical symptoms of depression usually dissipate , however for many people depression lingers on a long time and is frequently triggered, which can have a devastating impact upon your life , making day to day activities extremely difficult to manage.
Although anxiety and depression are different mood disorders, they have five major symptoms in common:
Irritability
Difficulty sleeping
Difficulty concentrating
Psychomotor agitation (restlessness)
Anhedonia (losing all pleasure in daily life)
Depression comes in many forms, both minor and major, but all types of depression may have a lasting and damaging effect on your mood, relationships and overall health if not dealt with appropriately.
People describe themselves as being "depressed" when they are just going through a "rough patch".

regular physical activity
